Admissions process
To be considered for admission to the AzCRTP, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements (below) and complete and submit all the required application materials by the July 1st application deadline.
Admission to the AzCRTP is competitive. All complete applications submitted to the AzCRTP program office by the application deadline will be reviewed by a select review committee. The decision of this committee is final.
Eligibility
Applicants to the AzCRTP must hold a graduate degree (eg: DC, DDS, DMD, DO, MD, ND, OD, PharmD, PhD, RN, MS) and possess the appropriate qualifications, experience, and desire to pursue careers in clinical research. Clinical research is multidisciplinary, and scholars in this program should represent diverse academic backgrounds.
In addition, all applicants to the AzCRTP must be U.S. citizens, noncitizen nationals, or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States. All applicants, when requested, must provide residency status documentation.
Several criteria are used to evaluate each applicant, including:
- appropriateness of clinical research interest
- commitment to a career in clinical research
- appropriate support to participate fully in the program (especially release
time and financial support)
- potential to develop into an independently funded clinical researcher
- quality of written expression
- quality of professional and academic records
- feasibility of completing the certificate program within two to three years
