2006 Conference: Culturally Based Substance Abuse Treatments for American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Latinos
Most studies have not systematically documented the kinds of cultural interventions that are used in treatment programs, how cultural interventions are incorporated into treatment plans, and how these cultural interventions contribute to the effectiveness of the recovery process. The purpose of this conference is to provide a forum for a cadre of therapists and researchers to discuss the different kinds of cultural interventions used as a part of best practices in the treatment of substance abuse in American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Latinos.
