Learn about the extent of injuries, prevention strategies, evaluating prevention efforts and the Arizona Injury Prevention Plan at a conference Tuesday, Jan. 23, 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., at The University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center, Catalina Room. Leon Robertson, PhD, who was instrumental in alerting the public to the rollover dangers of high-profile vehicles, is the author of Injury Epidemiology, 2nd Edition, and Injuries: Causes, Control Strategies and Public Policy. His paper, “Blood and Oil: Vehicle Characteristics in Relation to Fatality Risk and Fuel Economy,” appeared in the American Journal of Public Health, November 2006 issue.
Now a resident of Green Valley, Ariz., Robertson was a long-time consultant to Indian Health Service and a professor at Yale University. He also taught in the University of Michigan’s summer injury control course.
