Biography

Dr. Girard began her career in Public Health as a naturopathic physician at Griffin Hospital in Connecticut. While in this position, she co-founded the Integrated Medical Center at Griffin Hospital, an outpatient integrative clinic that taught medical students and residents. She also worked as a clinical research specialist at the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center during this time. Dr. Girard later transitioned her career to higher education and currently serves as the President of the National University of Natural Medicine, Portland, OR. She teaches Fundamentals of Health Budgeting and Financial Management, joining an inspiring faculty that shares her passion for interdisciplinary education and team-based learning. By investigating current trends, Dr. Girard works with students to improve the quality and delivery of health services, which can have far-reaching consequences.
