Before entering the program:I worked as the Hospital Preparedness Program Manager for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services
Why did you choose public health?I chose public health after witnessing firsthand the health disparities and difficulties accessing care in rural communities. My experiences working with rural local public health departments was impactful and helped me connect the visible social determinants of health to a profession in public health.
Why did you choose MEZCOPH?I chose MEZCOPH because of the welcoming community and the depth of faculty expertise in my area of interest. There are opportunities to work with national experts and to develop a greater understanding of public health policy and management.

Interests/hobbies outside of school:I enjoy hiking, spending time with my dog, and cooking elaborate meals for my friends and family.
