    Conducting Alzheimer's disease and dermatology research at the Beckman Laser Institute

    Why did you choose public health?

    I believe that to effectively heal someone, you must not only treat them medically, but solve the sociocultural, behavioral, environmental, and economic factors behind their poor health. Studying public health was the best way for me to learn how to impact these determinants and combat health disparities.

    Why did you choose MEZCOPH?

    The excellent faculty and staff, curriculum, and location

    Public health interests:

    Health in the Pacific Islands, Rural and Border Health, working with individuals with disabilities, Infectious Disease, Maternal and Child Health

    Internship:

    "Alleviating auditory and physical disability in the Republic of Palau"

    Interests/hobbies outside of school:

    Beach Volleyball, Traveling, Spearfishing, Cooking, Hiking

    Tip for future students:

    Do not let anything stop you from accomplishing your goals and do not be afraid to create your own opportunities.
