Wooden Lacrosse Story Stick Teachings: Indigenous Knowledges, Art-Making Practices and Health with Dr. Rodney Haring

Join Dr. Haring as he shares Indigenous knowledge in lacrosse stick teachings as a portrayal of the game embedded in science, war, medicine, art, and community wellness.

  • 12:00pm - 1:00pm: Seminar
    • Location: Health Sciences Innvocation Building (HSIB), Room 100B
  • 1:00pm - 2:00pm: Lacrosse Techniques Mini-Workshop
    • Location: South Lawn near College of Pharmacy and College of Public health

Dr. Rodney Haring is a citizen of the Seneca Nation of Indians and Inaugural Chair of the Department of Indigenous Cancer Health at the Roswell Cancer Center. He is an artist, social worker, and world-renown health disparities researcher. Dr. Haring's work is a collection of Community Based Participatory Art and blends Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) knowledge systems and Western science.
