Kim Bourn

Kim Bourn
Director of Development

Kim Bourn is a seasoned development and community relations professional with 30 years of experience. A skilled strategist with a deep understanding of organizational complexities and a passion for public health, Kim has made a remarkable impact on the Zuckerman College of Public Health and the larger Tucson community. She led the Drachman Hall Capital Campaign and the college’s Inaugural Programming Campaign, raising more than $16 million. She also made significant contributions through her work on the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, the Komen Breast Cancer community analysis, and the Zuckerman Food Initiative. Her collaborative approach brings community organizations together for stakeholder engagement and outstanding results. Presently Kim is focused on the University of Arizona’s Fuel Wonder Campaign, raising funds in priority areas for the college: Mental Health, Climate Change & Health, Global Health, Indigenous Health, Digital Epidemiology, and Student Scholarships.

Kim has received awards for her work in business, education, health, and philanthropy. As a dedicated mother of three, she still finds the time and energy to advocate for important causes. She has earned recognition for her work at both the national and local levels, including awards from Tu Nidito, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, The YWCA Women on the Move, and Tucson Medical Center. She has been honored with the University of Arizona Distinguished Citizen Award and the University of Arizona College of Education Alumna Award.

Kim earned her master’s degree from the Graduate School of Education at The University of Arizona.


Kurt Peterson

Kurt is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in corporate leadership and publishing. With a remarkable 33-year tenure as the Owner and Publisher of EIJ Company, he spearheaded the production of leading trade magazines catering to the global drinking water treatment industry. Under his guidance, EIJ Company flourished, earning the prestigious status of being the foremost authority in its niche, with its publications ranking as the #1 choice among industry professionals.

With offices strategically located in Arizona and Mexico City, Kurt adeptly managed operations across borders, fostering international collaborations and expanding the company's reach. His astute leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence were pivotal in establishing EIJ Company as a trailblazer in the field.

In addition to his corporate endeavors, Kurt has been actively involved in various industry associations, notably serving on the board of directors of the Pacific Water Quality Association. His contributions and dedication to advancing water quality standards have been recognized through numerous accolades, including the esteemed Special Award of Merit from the Water Quality Association.

Beyond his professional achievements, Kurt's philanthropic spirit shines through his role as a director of the Wishing Well International Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean drinking water solutions to underserved communities in developing nations. His involvement underscores a deep-seated commitment to leveraging his expertise for the betterment of society.

Now, in his new role as Director of Corporate and Business Engagement, Kurt brings his wealth of experience and visionary leadership to drive strategic partnerships and foster meaningful connections within the corporate landscape. With his proven track record of success and unwavering dedication to excellence, Kurt is poised to make significant contributions in his new capacity, further solidifying his legacy as a respected leader in both the corporate and philanthropic realms.


Erin Green

Erin Green
Coordinator, Development and Business Engagement

Erin Green, a rising development professional with a passion for philanthropy and health, works as a key member of the Development Team in the Zuckerman College of Public Health. Erin earned her BS in public health and minor in public policy at the University of Arizona. She leverages her education to drive investment in critical public health and policy issues while fostering community collaboration. Prior to her role in the college, Erin worked at a children's mental health non-profit in Long Beach, CA where she raised funds for programs to support trauma-informed education in elementary schools, and also coordinated community fundraising campaigns and gala events. She now supports the UArizona’s Fuel Wonder campaign and annual giving campaigns for the college, and additionally uses her experience in communications to develop content for the college's social media channels. Committed to fostering partnerships, Erin uses creative fundraising and innovative thinking to address complex public health challenges.
